Top Tiles on Display for the Spring Parade of Homes

Minnesota weather notwithstanding, Spring really is just around the corner, and what better way to experience the renewal of that season than the Parade of Homes! Introduced to Minnesota by BATC-Housing First in 1949, the tour event showcases new homes and amazing remodeling ideas for homes in the Twin Cities metro area. Thursdays through Saturdays throughout March, you have the chance to visit any of these homes for an inside look at your potential design inspiration!

We’d like to give you a sneak peek at one of the homes on this list, designed by City Homes, LLC. The whole house has a stellar style, positioned right next to the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes with abundant natural light to let the outside in. But on top of everything else, the tiling throughout is a true highlight for the whole Parade!

Heaven on Earth found at Sheridan Avenue

Entry #48 in the Parade of Homes boasts a welcoming design from the outside, with plenty of windows and a metal-roofed porch to take advantage of sunny weather. The inside is just as astounding, and the bathrooms, mudroom, and laundry rooms feature three of the finest product lines that Rubble Tile has to offer.

AlysEdwards In The Powder Room

First up is the ever playful AlysEdwards and their Man About You collection. Containing fifteen different colors, four different sizes, and two different finishes, Man About You is a glass tile collection with sleek metallic foil that will make you melt on sight. In Home #48 the powder bath walls are covered with the easy-on-the-eye color, Silhouette, with a matte finish in the large 4″ x 16″ size. The smooth sheen of Man About You provides a warm, cozy feeling that makes the bath all the more comfortable.

Urban Loft Modern Vintage Porcelain Tile

Represented next is the hip and sophisticated Mediterranea USA. Home #48 utilizes the Calle Ocho color from their Urban Loft series on the floors of its powder bath, guest bath, mudroom, and laundry. The mosaic version of these tiles is also used on the shower floor in the guest bath.

The philosophy behind Urban Loft is to replicate the look of time-worn areas restored to an eye-popping style. Design aspects like saw marks, tiles that look like the reverse side of vintage stone, and unique patterns define this porcelain series as unique among other Roman Travertine-style tiles.

 

The Inspirational European Tile from Mosa

The last product line represented in Home #48 that we want to tell you about is from the always-reliable Mosa. We know we’ve been shining a spotlight on them lately, and today is no exception. The homeowners were so inspired by an installation photo they saw in our showroom, that they’ve made it the tour de force in their master bath.

Both the walls and the floor are covered in a combination of 2″ x 24″ and 6″ x 24″ porcelain tiles from Mosa’s Terra Tones series, which has a tone-one-tone shade variation, in the Veneto Grey Color. The shower floor uses a very cool linear drain, which allows long 2″ x 24″ and 4″ x 24″ planks in the same pattern to be used. The difference between the shower floors and the rest of the bath’s walls and floors is that the shower uses a textured version of the Terra Maestricht series, which has less variation than the Terra Tones and is quite slip resistant.
