This year’s Natural Stone Show will be joined at ExCeL, London, by a new sister show: Hard Surfaces. From 30th April to 2nd May 2019, buyers will be presented with a powerful line up of ceramic, porcelain, conglomerate, ultra compact, and natural stone surface solutions, making this a must-visit event for retailers, distributors, contractors, and specifiers alike. Barriers between natural stone and ceramics in the tile sector have long since broken down. And, with the advent of larger format porcelains, sintered ultra-compact surfaces and new diamond tooling to work them, the barrier has also broken down in the worktop, and furniture sectors. On Wednesday 1st May from 14.45 to 15.15pm Rocersa will explain why thick porcelain is now the preferred surface for patios, terraces, and urban landscapes. The final session, held from 15.15 to 16.00pm, will cover one of the most incredible tile installations ever attempted. Enigma Variations will demonstrate how bespoke sintered stone slabs from Neolith provided the perfect backdrop for the outstanding culinary creations of one of the world’s most celebrated chefs, Albert Adrià. The Enigma restaurant in Barcelona is Adrià’s latest gastronomic expression. Combining kitchen, cellar, and cocktail bar, Enigma is labyrinth of 700 sq. metres created by the RCR architectural studio, and designed to surrounding the diner in an atmosphere of mystery. This interior explored the outer-limits of the remarkable design versatility of Neolith to deliver one of the most remarkable projects of recent years. Attendees can expect a visual treat and will leave this session full of admiration for the exacting planning required to deliver a project of this complexity, and also fired up by the limitless design potential of sintered stone.
