Wetrooms and Colour Combinations

The Hard Surfaces & Natural Stone Show is fast approaching. For the next few days we will take a sneak peek at some of the offerings in store.

From 30th April to 2nd May 2019, buyers will be presented at ExCel, London with a powerful line up of ceramic, porcelain, conglomerate, ultra-compact, and natural stone surface solutions, making this a must-visit event for retailers, distributors, contractors, and specifiers alike.  Barriers between natural stone and ceramics in the tile sector have long since broken down. And, with the advent of larger format porcelains, sintered ultra-compact surfaces and new diamond tooling to work them, the barrier has also broken down in the worktop, and furniture sectors.  This combined event reflects the realities of the marketplace, and alongside an impressive array of exhibitors, offers visitors an expertly-curated set of value-adding seminars and talks on many different aspects of the solid surface market.

We’re almost a third of the way through the year and 2019’s obsession with colour seems to show no signs of slowing down. One company, Love Tiles, is taking colour very seriously, akin to the importance an artist would place on shade. In fact, it is the aim of their collection Splash to place in our minds the essence of soft paint strokes, and in this way, to convey emotion. The subtle texture, designed to resemble plaster work, further evokes this, and adds extra life to the colours.

Their colour choices range from bold and passionate red and calm, stress-relieving blue, to neutral shades of white, grey, and cream. This gives freedom to utlise the tiles in a variety of diverse settings. Additionally providing options for both flooring (in 608x608mm and 599x599mm ret.) and wall coverings (in 200×600 and 350x1000mm ret.) enables the option for uniform settings and colour combinations. To further play with colour, Love Tiles has also added coloured grout to their list of offerings.

Schlüter-Systems, the market-leading tiling systems manufacturer, have identified Hard Surfaces as an excellent match for their solutions and sphere of work.  Carl Stokes, Head of Marketing, says: “Our solutions come alive when people see how they work together in the context of an overall design and Hard Surfaces 2019 is the perfect stage for our ambitious and eye-catching centre-piece.”
