Xizi Otis to Provide Elevators and Escalators for New Rail Projects in China

Xizi Otis Elevator Co., Ltd. ("Xizi Otis"), a subsidiary of Otis Elevator (China) Investment Company Ltd., has secured three important new rail projects to provide a total of 207 new elevators and escalators: Chengdu Metro Line 10, Wuhan Metro Airport Line and the Guizhou West section of the Shanghai-Kunming Railway. Otis is a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Continuing its long-term work with Chengdu Metro, Xizi Otis is supplying 82 elevators and escalators to Chengdu Metro Line 10. When in operation by the end of this year, Line 10 will connect Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport with the city center and existing metro network. Xizi Otis will provide four Regen-M elevators, 23 high efficiency Gen2® elevators and 55 XO21NP escalators to Line 10, adding to its existing 500 elevators and escalators on Lines 1, 3 and 7.

In Wuhan, Xizi Otis will supply 87 elevators and escalators to the new Wuhan Metro Airport Line, including two Regen-M elevators, 20 high-efficiency Gen2 elevators and 65 XO21NP escalators. The Airport Line, coming into operations later this year, will run between Wuhan Tianhe Airport and downtown. Xizi Otis has previously supplied elevators and escalators to Wuhan Metro Lines 2, 3 and 4.

To date, Xizi Otis has supplied nearly 3,000 elevators and escalators to metro networks in more than 10 key cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Kunming, Changsha and Shenzhen, as well as Chengdu and Wuhan.

Xizi Otis is also a trusted supplier in many of China's other major infrastructure projects, as well as rail projects worldwide. It was most recently selected to supply 38 elevators and escalators to the Guizhou West section of the Shanghai-Kunming Railway. The 560-kilometer section will connect Guizhou to China's national rail network and rely on Gen2 elevators and XO21NP escalator systems. Xizi Otis has previously supplied elevators and escalators to the Guizhou East section of the Shanghai-Kunming Railway.

"With advanced technology and global expertise in high-traffic public infrastructure, Xizi Otis is very pleased to continue its support of China's growing transportation network by providing safe and reliable elevators and escalators to the riding public," said Alan Cheung, President, Xizi Otis.
