Perfect Patchwork

Today Tile Addict is excited to take a look a few ranges on offer from an Italian company that was founded by those with a rich twenty year history in the ceramic sector. Horus Art Ceramiche was established in Fiorano Modenese, home to the Museum of Ceramic and neighbouring the tile hub Sassuolo. This innovative company found success in national markets before moving into overseas territories.

Extensive market research led to a production system which focused on two main areas of design; classic and contemporary. The former focusing on traditional ceramics, inspired by and showcasing craftsmanship and time-honoured skill, and the latter basking in creativity and innovation.

Their contemporary ranges live up to their description. The first to stand out is Patchwork which takes beautiful classic motifs and gives them an aged appearance. They come in two colour pallettes; Beige and Griege, available in 600mm by 600mm or 200mm by 200mm.

There are nine patterns, some of which feature subtle additions of colour, which can be mixed and matched to create a variety of visual effects. This porcelain range easily adds warmth and character and works well when combined with a large range of alternative surface finishes.

Tabriz is porcelain’s take on Persian carpet. Within this range of neutrals is an intriguing mix of carpet designed, fractured, and reformed together to create a unique display of pattern and texture. This group of four tiles (600mm by 600mm) work stunningly together en mass, and look very much like the real deal, if not slightly better.
