Yesterday , we shared how to get the look of this fabulous yet simple kitchen designed by Christian May of Maision21 that used a backsplash of hex-shaped cement tiles to take a modern kitchen from meh to marvelous. In fact, we’ve been seeing hexagon shaped tiles popping up everywhere from kitchen tile backsplashes to restaurant tile floors. Designed in 2015 by A+Z Design Studio this contemporary apartment in Budapest, Hungary, utilizes sparse accessories to accentuate the sharp curvature of the space and draw the eye in. There are original touches throughout the apartment, such as the radiators and the pipes running from floor to ceiling. The apartment has been staged with a combination of rustic and contemporary materials, showcasing the timelessness of the space.

Sukoon Mosaic by Nutmeg Designs, glass on slate, 12×6 inches. Commissioned by a client for her inspiration in her office. She defined this Urdu/Arabic word as meaning peace, bliss, contentment, when all is right with the world, and something she seeks. I hadn’t heard this word before and I like knowing there are words yet to be discovered to describe well being.
