It’s really cool to see examples of people who have built their own dream homes. Not only are they able to create the home of their dreams, but they can also make sure it’s built to their exact specifications and budget. The link below is to a recent story of a couple that built their own off the grid home in Kentucky. One of the more surprising revelations the couple came to was how helpful the inspectors could be in making sure everything was done right. It’s also interesting to hear one of the owner builder’s reasons for building his own house was because he grew “tired of fixing other peoples mistakes.” Those of you who have remodeled an older home know what that’s all about.
