Tan Zou Ma Li

The Tan Zou Ma Li restaurant in Kaohsiung, Taiwan has a strong exterior attitude and carries it through element by element, creating a cohesive design and established atmosphere.

Designed by Lo Keng-Fu of architecture firm Chain 10 the resulting space has a heavily industrial look, counteracted by an air of elegance. The twisted columns feed the narrative of urban chic, whilst echoing natural features.

Bringing together the interior space with the outside is the chosen tile used throughout the main restaurant seating areas and the connecting corridors. Ceppo di Gre Gris porcelain tiles from Vives were specified in a 593 by 1,193mm format, adding both to the industrial charm, and highlighting natural elements. The look is completed by the soft, warm lighting used throughout.
