CampbellSalem, N.J.—After 28 years as chairman of the board of Mannington Mills, Inc., Keith Campbell has announced he will retire effective December 31, 2023. Zack Zehner, his nephew and president of Mannington residential business, will succeed him, ushering in the fifth generation of Campbell family leadership at the company.

Campbell has spent his entire career at Mannington Mills, which was founded by his great grandfather, John Boston Campbell, in 1915. He joined the company in 1977 and held a variety of diverse positions in sales, manufacturing and finance. He was named to Mannington’s board of directors in 1983 and, succeeding his father John B. “Johnny” Campbell II, was appointed chairman in August 1995. “Mannington Mills has been everything to me,” he said in a memo sent to Mannington Mills associates. “I started in the maintenance department at the Salem (N.J.) plant when I was 18 and worked in almost every department along the line. And I have loved every single minute of it. Serving as chairman has been an incredible privilege, and I am immensely proud of the growth and success we have achieved together as a family and as a company.”

Campbell’s successor, Zehner, has been president of Mannington Residential Business since 2019. After law school and a stint as a lobbyist in Washington, D.C., Zehner began his career with Mannington Mills in 2003 as a district manager. In 2005, he was promoted to director of laminate business and in 2006 he was named director of porcelain tile business. In 2008 he was named vice president, commercial hard surface and in 2012 he became senior vice president, distributor network. “Zack has been an exceptional leader and representative of both the business and the fifth generation of the Campbell family,” Campbell said. “He has set the residential business up for success and we pledge our full support as he takes on his new role.”

Zehner will become executive chairman of the board on January 1, 2024.

Jimmy Tuley

This move sets off a cascade of other leadership changes at Mannington Mills. Jimmy Tuley, senior vice president of sales, residential, is being promoted to president, Mannington residential business, effective January 1, 2024. Tuley joined Mannington in 2012 as director of Salem operations. Since that time, he has held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility across the company, including director, LVT business; and vice president – residential resilient before joining the residential sales team as senior vice president in 2021.

The leadership transition in a company like ours is critical, and we are fortunate to have such dedicated and talented associates throughout the organization. I am excited for our future and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Al Boulogne

Al Boulogne, vice president of commercial carpet and rubber, will succeed Tuley as senior vice president, residential sales. Boulogne began his career at Mannington in 2003 in pricing and rebates and has led teams in marketing, channel management and both commercial and residential product management, which gives him deep understanding of the company’s product lines and go to market strategies.

Whitney LeGate

Whitney LeGate, vice president of commercial LVT and sheet, is being promoted to senior vice president, commercial product. In this new position, she will lead the strategy and success of all Mannington Commercial product categories, both hard and soft surfaces. LeGate joined Mannington Commercial in 2009 as a sales analyst. Since then, she has held a variety of positions including manager of strategic accounts and manager of sales operations, before moving to the product management side of the business as commercial LVT product manager, then director of commercial LVT; assuming her current role in 2020. LeGate is also a champion for women in our industry and is on the board of trustees at Women in the Floorcovering Industry (WIFI) as well as chair of its mentoring program.

David Sheehan, senior vice president of residential product, will become senior vice president, residential product and marketing. Sheehan joined Mannington in 2003 as director of laminate and resilient. Since then, he has led both residential and commercial product teams in various roles with significant innovation being launched under his leadership.
