Charleston, S.C.—William M. Bird recently promoted Gary Rudebeck to vice president of sales and Jaco Kruger to vice president of East Bay Supply Co. Their new roles will be assumed on January 1, 2024. Rudebeck takes over for John Allen, who recently announced his retirement.

Rudebeck has served William M. Bird since 1998, initially as an outside sales representative where he achieved unprecedented success and was eventually promoted to sales director. In 2009, Rudebeck’s role was expanded to include product management responsibilities. One of his key achievements was assisting in the development of the company’s flagship house brand, Palmetto Road, followed by Azalea Lane and Veranda brands.

“Throughout our entire organization, Gary is a well-respected leader,” said president of William M. Bird, Gene Corvino. “His innovative contributions have shaped our sales methodology and fostered continuous growth of our house brands. Gary’s promotion to vice president is well deserved and celebrated by everyone in our family of companies.”

Since joining William M. Bird in 2005, Kruger has enjoyed a successful career within the company. Initially serving as financial services manager and later advancing to the role of financial services director, he transitioned to sales in 2017. In this capacity, Kruger assumed the position of director of East Bay Supply Co., the flooring supplies division of William M. Bird. His tenacity and dedication played a key role in achieving a significant uptick in revenue within a short timeframe.

“Jaco has shown incredible leadership in critical areas of our company and is a supportive resource to all teammates,” Corvino said. “His passion is always on display and his work ethic is an example for us all.”

Both Rudebeck and Kruger will begin their new roles on January 1, 2024.
