In this latest part of Tile Addict’s preview of Ceramics of Italy at Coverings we select some additional Italian products – all recently launched – that will be lighting up the aisles at Atlanta. But remember, keep your eyes peeled for some surprises at Coverings. Many of the real show stoppers are kept under wrap until Coverings itself opens its doors.
Metal and cement, two powerful materials, have been combined to create Century’s Titan collection. The design options include corten, aluminium, platinum, indium, cement, canyon, and chalk. This range is characterised by its extensive range of formats and thicknesses: 1,600 by 3,200 by 12mm, 1,200 by 2,600 by 7mm, 1,200 by 1,200 by 9mm, 600 by 1,200 by 9mm, 600 by 600 by 9mm, 300 by 600 by 9mm, 800 by 800 by 9mm, 800 by 800 by 20mm, and 600 by 600 by 20mm; the last two for external paving applications. Two surface options are available; Natural and Grip.
Dado’s beautiful Smot range combines through coloured glazed porcelain stoneware floor tiles with double-fired wall tiles. The format options are 600 by 1,200mm, 600 by 600mm, 300 by 600mm, 800 by 1,600mm, 590 by 1,180mm, 590 by 590mm, 295 by 590mm, and 200 by 600mm. This range will appeal to those seeking characterful neutral tiles, such as Smot white or grey rectified, with a lappato finish, in 800 by 1,600mm. Other colour options include anthracite, and beige. But Smot also has a decorative twist, with really subtle designs that promise long-lasting appeal. The double-fired wall tiles come in white and grey, and include both mosaic and decors to further boost this range’s versatility.
Comfort S by Dom is part of a comprehensive project allowing different materials with complementary shades of colors to be mixed-and-matched together. Cementine, resin, wood, stone and gypsum can be used individually in a room setting, or combined to create a creative blend linked by a common colour scheme. Sizes and surface textures are well-suited to a contemporary furnishing style and reshape the environment by providing an overall sense of completeness and harmony. The main formats are 300 by 600mm, 296 by 595mm rectified, 600 by 600mm, 595 by 595mm rectified, and 595 by 1,192mm rectified. Mosaics, hexagons, and stick strips add further intrigue.
With Edilgres’s Italian Marble, the range name says all you really need to know. A through-bodied porcelain range, 10mm thick, it is available in opaque polished, gloss polished and brushed finishes in 300 by 600mm, 600 by 600mm, and 600 by 1,200mm. The design options are Arabesque White, Corinthian Beige, Prestige Light, Grey, Coffee Brown, and Emperador Dark: in short, this range really ticks the on-trend marble boxes. Factor in chevron, hexagon, prezioso, spaccatella, and intarsio mosaics in 25 by 25mm and 50 by 50mm, plus special pieces, and you can see that this is a truly sophisticated collection with almost limitless applications.
Castle by La Fabbrica is a new and original collection that catches the strong and defined character of the veins of a typical Indian marble. Contemporary colours, such as white, black, grey and blue, interpret the nature of marble in an innovative way. The collection, available in two finishes, natural and lappato, is versatile and perfect to personalize and to refine residential and commercial spaces.
