Taylor announces price increase on solvent-based adhesives

Dalton—Taylor Adhesives announced that it will be increasing its pricing by up to 14% on all new orders and shipments for its solvent-based adhesive products, effective October 1, 2020.

Beginning in 2020 Taylor, as with other manufacturers, saw dramatic cost increases in key solvents used in these adhesive formulations. Also, significant tightening in the supply of Acetone compounded these cost increases. This tightening of supply occurred after domestic solvent producers were successful in petitioning the U.S. Department of Commerce to impose anti-dumping duties against imported supplies of this chemical. Because of this, Taylor was forced to implement a price increase, the company said.

“Taylor prides itself on being a full portfolio of flooring adhesive solutions,” said Paul Murfin, president of Taylor. “As part of that commitment, we have continued to supply certain solvent-based adhesives such as carpet pad cement and all-weather exterior carpet adhesive. We realize the importance of these products for various flooring categories and we will continue to maintain everything our customers need. “

Customers for solvent-based adhesives may ask their Taylor Adhesives representative for more details.
