Mountville, Pa.—Two AHF products—Dogwood Densified Wood Technology from Bruce and Bruce LifeSeal Reserve—were awarded Good Design 2021 Awards. Founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, Good Design remains the oldest and one of the world’s most recognized programs for design excellence worldwide.

Honored for quality design of the highest form, function and aesthetic, these awards recognize products from across the AHF Products portfolio, including hardwood as well as rigid core flooring. “We are especially proud that AHF Products was recognized across categories; our legacy hardwood and also for rigid core, which is one of our newest lines,” said Wendy Booker, vice president, marketing and new product development. “Our product team places a great deal of emphasis on both innovation and performance, and also on meeting our customers’ specific needs, so this recognition is gratifying.”

Dogwood Densified Wood is a 100% natural product created using a natural process, according to the company. Through the manufacturing process using heat and pressure, Dogwood densified wood delivers scratch-resistant, dent-resistant and water-resistant protection against everyday wear, pet nails and accidents.

Bruce LifeSeal Reserve delivers 100% waterproof protection to stand up to the busiest of homes and light commercial spaces, without sacrificing comfort or style, according to AHF. In addition, the flooring features the company’s new Cleantivity antimicrobial coating technology, which inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew. This carefully curated, resilient floor collection features a luxurious array of designs in muted textures and in wide widths wood looks as well as authentic looks in stone and marble.

This year, the Museum received a record number of submissions from the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms representing the most important and critical mass of influential corporations in the design industry from over 55 countries, representing the best consumer design ranging from the ‘spoon to the city’ for sustainability, superior design and unparalleled function.

In November and December, the 71st Good Design jury convened to select over 1,100 product designs and graphics worthy of the Good Design Award for their Design Excellence. Good Design is an international symbol of a company’s firm commitment to innovation and superior design embodiment.
