CTEF online auctionPendleton, S.C.—The Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) online auction taking place Aug. 18-22, 2022 includes a broad assortment of tile installation products and materials worth more than $80k. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the CTEF, allowing it to further support its mission.

“This online auction includes tile installation products and materials that tile installers and contractors know, love and depend on,” said Brad Denny, CTEF executive director. “Not only can they stock up on their favorite products and materials but in so doing they can directly benefit CTEF so this foundation can continue to provide ceramic tile education and installer certification.”

The CTEF online auction takes place from August 18 at noon until August 22 at 4 p.m. EST and includes more than 100 items relevant to tile installation professionals. Donated by tile and stone industry supporters, suppliers and manufacturers, these items include among others:

  • Tools such as mixers, saws, cutters, tool kits, trowels, floats, sponges, suction cups and knee pads
  • Materials such as tile, GPTP, backer board, underlayment, mortar, shower niches and grout
  • Flooring products
  • NTCA Football/Golf and Fishing Experience packages
  • Online courses and coloring books

Those interested in participating in the online auction can do so via their computer, text or by contacting Cathey McAlister at CTEF. Bidding is free. The first step is to register at https://www.accelevents.com/e/ctefauction, and participants do not need to wait until the auction starts to do so.

“The proceeds from this online auction will allow us to expand the training and certification programs such as the Certified Tile Installer (CTI) program and the Advanced Certifications for Tile Installers (ACT) program,” said Scott Carothers, CTEF director of certification and training.

The CTEF aims to improve the tile industry through installer certification, education, training and participation in the development of nationally recognized standards and methods. It exists based on income generated through in-person training and hands-on certification event fees and tile industry sponsorship. As a result of COVID-19, CTEF has had to rely increasingly on fundraising efforts.
