Into the Kiasmo Cosmos

Kiasmo, established in 2011 by Vincenzo D’Alba in Apulia, is a unique homeware brand offering statement decor items and functional art. Amongst their many marvellous plates, pillows, and pottery sit some treats for Tile Addicts.

Framed and fabulous, the Ginevra series by illustrator, designer and Kiasmo co-founder Vincenzo D’Alba feature whimsical minimalist portraits in black and white applied to plain ceramic tiles.

D’Alba’s faces span a multitude of personality, playing with strokes and shapes to create an entire family of forms to fascinate akin to the charming characters by Maddalena Sisto.

The Bistrot series serves up ceramic chic with a side of surrealism with faces, forks, and food morphing together in a weird and wonderful world. A similar sketch style illustration can be found amongst a number of the ceramic designs including the shadowy Haiku, the enigmatic Loving, and the salacious Boudoir.

This same bizarre and curious universe also inhabits the masses of magnificent hexagonal tiles. Faces, scenes, and a play on perspective form countless ceramic delights either to be framed for display or incorporated into a feature.

With so many wonderful designs to see, it’s definitely worth a look through Kiasmo’s catalogue.
