Santa Fe Springs, Calif.—Monarch Plank, a hardwood flooring supplier, has launched the New World collection, featuring classic American species in thick, premium-quality, wide-plank, pre-finished engineered flooring.

The New World Collection measures 5/8-thick with a 4mm, fully re-sandable top layer and 5-foot average length boards. The New World collection offers each of the five main domestic flooring species in two different widths and grades. White Oak, Red Oak, Maple, Hickory and Walnut are each available in a 6-inch-wide Select Grade that is virtually free of knots, and a 7-inch-wide Light Rustic Grade for a touch of character. All New World items are coated with a clear Bona High Durability matte urethane finish.

“New World brings traditional American looks into the luxury long length, wide plank category that is popular today,” said Danny Harrington, vice president of marketing and product development. “We believe there are a lot of consumers who like the traditional, natural look of these North American species, but they want a superior quality product more in line with the specifications being offered by European manufacturers. Until now, that’s been hard to find.”
