SAR Floors’ engineered SPC product should be available for retailers in February.

Harrisburg, Pa.—SAR Floors, an LVT supplier known for high-performing floors with stylistic designs, is launching Riptide II Longboard, an engineered SPC offering featuring the company’s TriCore technology.

Riptide II is currently shipping to SAR Floors’ distributors and should be on retail floors by the end of February, the company said. Although the product is marketed as an engineered stone polymer composite, it has the look and feel of rigid core, according to Skip Mason, director of national sales. “Retailers can have confidence in the fact the product is dimensionally stable,” Mason said. “It passes the 10,000 revolutions/caster chair test (for durability) and has been tested for high heat and sunlight.”

Riptide is set apart by TriCore, a technology that promises superior strength and durability due to its uniquely engineered 3-layer core. In addition, the product can be floated or glued down and is offered in a 9 x 72 format. Riptide’s 20-mil, embossed-in-register texture offers the realism of natural plank flooring. Each plank features a painted bevel along with SAR’s Quiet Step Plus cushion for comfort underfoot.

The company said the 5.5mm-thick product is further bolstered by a UV wear layer with ArmourGuard Microbead technology, is Floor Score certified and comes with a 15-year light commercial/limited residential lifetime warranty.
