manningtonSalem, N.J.—Mannington Mills hired John Hammel as senior director, wood and laminate business. In this role, Hammel will be responsible for leading the product development and marketing execution of those product lines as well as working with executive leadership on long-term strategic initiatives, according to Mannington Mills.

The company said Hammel has extensive knowledge of the flooring industry and the product categories he will be involved with. Most recently, he was with Shaw Industries as director of category management for hardwood and laminate.

“With John’s experience and industry contacts, he is an excellent addition to the team,” said David Sheehan, vice president of residential hard surface. “We’re thrilled to have him as part of the Mannington family and we are excited to see the vision he is bringing to his new role.”
