Elgin, Ill.—Taj Flooring’s focus on modular acoustic flooring meets the rising demand for sound abatement in commercial interiors with the launch of 13 new luxury vinyl designs. Offered in a 5mm loose lay format, the Wavelength Modular Acoustic Flooring collection features wood looks and textured designs ideal for multi-family, health care, hospitality and education applications.

“Over the past 12 years, this flooring category has grown substantially,” said Tom Powell, CEO of Taj Flooring. “The demand for greater acoustic properties, comfort underfoot, loose lay capabilities, portability and use over access panels continues to grow. Our ability to apply strong visual design to this combination of features and benefits makes this launch very exciting.”

Designed for comfort and function in mind, Wavelength’s new designs comprise five softened contemporary wood-look planks with straighter graining and minimal knotting, as well as two textured patterns—Filo and Montage.

Filo, meaning “thread,” offers an intricate crosshatch design in a 12 x 24 tile that embodies a textile aesthetic with the durability and cleanability of luxury vinyl ideal for an array of commercial end use applications. Filo is available in four neutrals tones and one complementary blue variation.

Inspired by interwoven layers, Montage is a unique arrangement of elements forming a continuous design. Available in a large-format tile, 36 x 36, its neutral tones yet intricate and collective visual of stone, concrete and textile provides interiors with a sophisticated canvas, the company said.

“We are constantly striving to bring designs to the market that have not been seen before,” said Joe Polito, vice president of product development for Taj Flooring. “There is much strength in the design of commercial resilient flooring, and we have the capabilities to create luxury vinyl patterns that are just not possible by nature. This allows us to bring the design community durable flooring material with extreme visual interest that has a unique, yet well-grounded presence.”

Wavelength’s Volume 2 collection offers a total of 25 high-performance, 5mm, fiberglass reinforced modular acoustic flooring products with a non-slip backing. The advanced modular construction allows for multiple installation options in varied commercial end use applications. Wavelength is appropriate for use over raised access floor panels, excellent for limiting sound transmission and installs next to carpet tile without the need for transition strips, the company said.
