Birmingham, Ala.—Central Alabama Flooring, operating as Don’s Carpet One, Wheat’s Carpet One, Big Bob’s Flooring Birmingham and ProSource of Huntsville, has begun in-store campaigns to raise awareness and take donations for the Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries (ABCH).

“With some 6,000 children in foster care in Alabama, we are pleased to support an organization that exists to protect, nurture and restore children and families,” explained Don Roberts, president/CEO of Central Alabama Flooring. “Our goal in 2021 is to raise money and physically serve the needs of ABCH.”

All of the stores in the Central Alabama Flooring group have set up displays to raise awareness of the work being done in the community by the Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries. Customers are given the opportunity to make donations while they are there in the store or take information home with them on how to contribute.

Dedicated to helping Alabama children who cannot live with their families because of abuse, neglect, abandonment or other social ills including a growing number of preschoolers needing individualized care, ABCH provides services including foster care, group homes, family care homes, Pathways Professional Counseling and seminars on child and family issues.

“Our sales associates are looking forward to being part of this charitable effort,” Roberts stated. “I think our customers will be moved to give generously once they become aware of the good ABCH does in the communities they serve.”
