American Olean MidwestLouisville, Ky.—Louisville Tile, a leading distributor of ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tile, has acquired American Olean Midwest, a highly respected tile supplier and distributor. This strategic move aims to further solidify Louisville Tile’s position as a prominent player in the tile industry, expanding its market presence and enhancing its product portfolio.

The acquisition represents a significant milestone for Louisville Tile. As a family-owned business with a history dating back to 1955, the company has been dedicated to providing exceptional-quality products and outstanding customer service. The acquisition also aligns with the company’s core values and growth strategy, enabling it to better serve its customers and meet their evolving needs.

The addition of American Olean Midwest’s operations and resources will significantly enhance Louisville Tile’s distribution network, strengthening its position in the Midwest region of the United States. It provides access to an extensive selection of American Olean products and expands the Louisville Tile Footprint to nine contiguous states. “We could not think of a better partner or more natural fit,” said Craig Campbell, president of American Olean Midwest. “We wanted to land our employees and customers in the very best hands possible, and with the depth of product and team that Louisville Tile brings to the table, we have done that.”

The acquisition establishes Louisville Tile as one of the preeminent independent distributors in North America. “This acquisition is an exciting development for Louisville Tile as we continue to build on our commitment to delivering superior products and services to our valued customers,” said Matthew Saltzman, CEO of Louisville Tile. “With this acquisition, we are able to expand into three new markets and consolidate two existing markets. With the consolidation of American Olean Midwest’s Chicago and South Bend branches into our existing branches we have become the defacto market leader in both markets and the dominant player in the Midwest region. We are thrilled to welcome American Olean Midwest into the Louisville Tile family.”

Louisville Tile has successfully executed its growth strategy through strategic acquisitions, expanding its market reach and strengthening its position as an industry leader. The acquisition of American Olean Midwest, in combination with the earlier Mid America Tile acquisition (October 2022) marks a significant milestone in the company’s history. Louisville Tile will grow by 24 new employees, bringing the total team membership to 290 across the nine states.
