Atlanta, Ga.—Mohawk was recognized with the 2023 Promise Award from Susan G. Komen at the 10th annual Bubbles & Bling event here at the Atlanta History Center. Created in honor of the promise Susan G. Komen founder, Nancy Brinker, made to end breast cancer forever, the award is presented to those who go above and beyond.

“A proud sponsor of Komen for 22 years, we will continue to work with the organization to help make Nancy’s promise a reality,” said Kelli Widdifield, Mohawk’s senior vice president of marketing. “We are currently gearing up for the 2023 3-Day season and have in-store and onsite activations that will get our internal teams and customers more involved in the fight.”

During the signature fundraising event featuring an eclectic cocktail reception with music and dancing, more than 300 leaders from Atlanta’s business and philanthropic communities participated in live and silent auctions while Komen celebrated their long-standing partnership with Mohawk.

“Mohawk’s commitment to eradicate breast cancer and their many contributions over the years were just a couple reasons why we chose to select the company for this award,” said Jamar Jeffers, state executive director, Susan G. Komen. “We are especially grateful for the over $6.8 million investment that Mohawk has made over the lifetime of our partnership and the active role they take at our regional events.”

On the residential side, Mohawk’s Decorate for the Cure program donates a certain percentage of SmartCushion sales to Komen. Additionally, Mohawk supports Komen’s 3-Day events with SmartCushion pads to comfort walkers and crew members along with teaming up with retail partners in each city to host celebratory lunch events. On the commercial side, Mohawk’s Specify for a Cure program donates proceeds from the sales of eligible flooring products to help the nonprofit carry out its mission.
