Reinvaded

Can you believe it’s been almost five years since we last spoke about global gallivanter and mastermind mosaicist Invader? Last time we checked he had hit over 75 cities world-wide and installed 3,724 sneaky mosaics. The most memorable of which (for me) include The Dude from Invading LA 2018, the four ghosts from Invading Hong Kong 2018, and the camouflaged invader from Invading Versailles 2019 (see them all here). So what now?

First, an exhibition in Paris spread over 9 floors and 3,500 sqm held from February 17th to May 5th 2024 promising an “immersive journey into Invader’s universe” filled with photos, videos, sculptures, and installations.

Second, the arrival of the 4,000th invader in 2022, celebrated both by an installation in Bolivia at 4,000m above sea level and an exhibition to mark the first 4,000 invaders that was held at the Over the Influence gallery in Paris from December 10th 2022 to January 22nd 2023.

And finally a refreshed tally – 83 territories and 4,168 invaders. New pieces include 58 installations in Djerba in 2019, 11 installations on Reunion Island in 2022, 18 installations in Munich in 2023, a new invasion at Fountainbleau in 2023, and in Paris in 2020 and 2021.
