FloorcloudBoston—Floorcloud, a breakthrough technology platform developed and tested over the past two years to improve jobsite quality control, has been launched by Construction Connectivity, Inc. According to the company, the solution helps contractors professionalize and protect their businesses by monitoring jobsite climate conditions in real-time, enabling them to immediately recognize issues as they occur.

Floorcloud consists of web-enabled mobile and desktop software, 4G cellular-connected climate sensors and a proprietary product specification database of leading flooring industry brands. “The platform was engineered to be remarkably intuitive for usage on virtually any type of flooring installation jobsite,” said Scott Banda, the company’s co-founder and president. “As it scales across North America, it will continually save our industry hundreds of millions of dollars annually regarding avoidable failure.”

The unique Floorcloud platform is supported by industry-leading organizations such as Starnet, Fuse Alliance, FCI, INSTALL, NWFA and the NTCA. Using it, contractors now can create a project record, segment it into sectors, select sundry and finished flooring products from its database, monitor ambient conditions in real-time and compare them all to manufacturers’ specifications, according to the company.

With Floorcloud, the company said contractors can easily record process steps and other important information by capturing photos, documenting key activities, assigning tasks and archiving it all securely within a cloud-based job file. Alert notifications can be viewed instantly, down to the details of variance from specification or by intuitive graphs of hourly temperature, humidity and dew point data. Additionally, the company said all information gathered, including photos of batch codes, substrate, jobsite conditions and tasks performed can be captured and easily shared with other stakeholders, optimizing communication and resolving issues as they occur.

Floorcloud’s desktop application offers additional functionality such as the ability to administer user access, view all projects and sensor status in map view and generate summary reports as well, according to the company. The company said it partnered with Wagner Meters in developing the capability to read its Rapid RH in situ probe sensors using BlueTooth technology.

“Our relationship with Wagner Meters is going to produce one of the most transformative, labor-saving benefits the industry has yet seen,” said Patrick Mullins, the company’s co-founder and executive vice president.

Mark Bischoff, president and CEO of Starnet, said contractors and manufacturers can use mobile technology as a labor management tool, which can ensure best practices and productivity. “This optimizes consistency of behavior over multiple projects, with a widely diverse workforce mixed between union and non-union, as well as employees and subcontractors,” Bischoff said.

Floorcloud’s manufacturer verified partner program is free to manufacturer’s that provide their data to the company, which clearly demonstrates to contractors a commitment of their brand to job site quality assurance, according to the company.

The company said it is seeking leading contractors across North America, offering a 30-day free trial. Ideal companies undertake high liability projects in the commercial construction sector and embrace the use of new technology as a competitive advantage.
