Dalton—J+J Flooring has launched the Impact Project, a program designed to improve environments for seniors in underserved communities.

Up to 10 projects will be awarded 5,000 square feet of flooring as well as free installation. Eligible projects include those for non-profit organizations that provide housing, residential care or day services to seniors in underserved communities. Design professionals are encouraged to submit nominations on behalf of their clients by visiting here.

“We believe the right flooring can make a dramatic contribution to improving the aesthetics, safety and performance of a space,” said Ross Leonard, vice president of marketing for J+J Flooring. “Design positively impacts people every day. This is a small way we can give back to seniors and help improve the quality of their lives.”

Designers and/or providers already working on a project with a restricted budget can use this opportunity to upgrade their design scheme and make a bigger impact for residents, the company said.

Design firms can also reach out to existing day service centers, housing or residential care facilities in their communities and offer to help give a fresh look to their common spaces.

Any product in J+J Flooring’s line of carpet, LVT or Kinetex textile composite flooring may be used. Up to 10 projects in the U.S. and Canada will be reviewed by an independent advisory panel based on need and statement of purpose. The panelists are:

  • Hillary DeGroff, senior associate, Perkins Eastman, Chicago
  • Kelley Hoffman, partner, Interior Designer, RDG Planning & Design, St. Louis, Mo.
  • Rob Simonetti, project architect, SWBR Architects, Rochester, N.Y.

Deadline to submit an application is September 25, 2020.
