Dallas—Marazzi’s D_Segnicollectionreceived an IIDA/HD Expo Product Design Awardduring the 2018 HD Expoin Las Vegas. A porcelain tile reinterpretation of traditional hand-made cement tiles found in Italy, D_Segni secured this win in the Flooring Hard Surfaces category.

“From its introduction, D_Segni has been an industry standout,” said Micah Hand, brand marketing manager, Marazzi. “D_Segnioffers a series of decorative geometrical, vintage, and metropolitan designs that distinguish it from other tile collections in the industry. This recognition from IIDA/HD further determines Marazzi as a flooring design leader, and we are proud to accept this award next to other industry leaders.”

The IIDA/HD competition acknowledges accomplishments in product design innovation, technical advancements, aesthetics, environmental responsibility and usage in hospitality applications. “Winners of this year’s competition found innovative ways to leverage product design to craft a hospitality experience that offers travelers a place to escape while maintaining elements that feel like home,” said Cheryl S. Durst, IIDA executive vice president and CEO.

IIDA/HD entries were judged by a board of design professionals including Chris Evans, associate principal, Rottet Studio;Michelle Reichert, director – strategic sourcing, FF&E, MGM Resorts International; and Patricia Rotondo, IIDA, senior principal and director of interior design, Antunovich Associates.
