Stunning Spanish Cement-Look Tile from European Porcelain & Ceramics

Cement tile, which has been around since the 19th century, has taken off in popularity in recent years. There’s a good chance that the ornately patterned tile feature that caught your eye in a stylish café or a modern apartment was made from cement or cement-look tile.

This month, we’re spotlighting an exciting collection of Spanish cement-look tiles from European Porcelain & Ceramics, known for bringing Europe’s best tile designers and manufacturers to the American market.

Cement Black & White (Floor)

The Cement collection from EPC

The Cement collection consists of 8 x 8 inch field tiles that come in eight colors and colorways, with four solid color options and four unique patterned options.

The patterned tiles can be used to create beautiful geometric or floral patterns that evoke the feel of a Mediterranean veranda on the Spanish coast. You can use them on the floor or wall, or as a smaller feature like a backsplash, in coordination with the solid tiles in the same color scheme.

All of the colorways come in the characteristic matte finish of cement tile, which many people love for the organic, natural feel that it gives to a space.

Cement Star – Black

Cement-Look Tiles in a Range of Pattern and Color Options

The Star pattern comes in Black or Pearl, and could be perfect for an updated variation on a classic black-and-white mosaic floor in a bathroom or the kitchen. The repeating pattern you get when the tiles are laid next to each other results in pleasing lines that give a sense of simplicity and order to the space, rather than overwhelming it with detail.

Cement Grace – Black (Floor)

The Sun pattern comes in a cool navy color and has lovely floral details. These would work well as a kitchen backsplash, or to create a sense of smooth and seamless transition between indoors and outdoors. You could place the patterned tiles in a sunroom and use the navy field tiles for a patio.

The last patterned option, Grace, is an elegant arabesque design. These pair nicely with the solid field tiles in Pearl and Black, and could be used to create a stunning wall feature to add some artistic charm to your space.

If you’re envisioning something more minimalist than an all-over pattern, you might consider alternating the solid field tiles to create a classic checkerboard floor, perhaps in an entryway or foyer. The monochromatic tiles can be easily used in coordination with the patterned tiles.

The Durability of Porcelain vs. Cement Tile

This collection combines the coveted appearance of cement tile with the durability and maintenance advantages of porcelain tile. Porcelain is a time-tested material known for its lower maintenance requirements and its imperviousness to stains and cracks.

Porcelain tiles also comes at a more affordable price point than cement – even those designed and produced in Spain. With the Cement collection, you get the same look and texture of a cement tile without having to worry about long-term wear, or about your budget.

Designed in Spain, Stocked in the US

We know that these kinds of holdups can be a real hassle, so ensuring that the tile portion of your project will be straightforward and worry-free is well worth the peace of mind.
