San Diego,Calif.—Duchateau introduced a new collection of luxury vinyl tile, The Guild Kindred, aiming to provide millennials and first-time homeowners with high-style flooring at affordable prices. The new 10-color Kindred collection is aimed at the same audience.

“This is a high-spec and low-maintenance product that is perfect for the homeowner looking for an easy-living but high-style floor,” said Patrick Bewley, vice president of marketing, Duchateau.

The company said it went to great lengths to create a collection that stays true to its design point of view. “We know all the beauty that wood can provide and are experts at bringing those unique colors to life at Duchateau,” Bewley said. “We created LVT styles that embody these nuances of color and tone.”

According to Rick Wagner, vice president of sales, retailers are telling the company what their customers are requesting. “Minimal pattern repeat, hyper-realistic wood visuals and embossing-in-register all made the list,” Wagner said. “Kindred not only offers all three, but really checks every box when it comes to the specifications customers want.”

Duchateau said it chose to make Kindred an SPC product so customers can benefit from the stability it offers. The 3L TripleLock click system was selected to make installation as fast and easy as possible, according to the company. The Kindred Collection also features a 1.5mm IXPE foam backing.

“Waterproof is a key selling feature for LVT and Kindred has that and more,” Wagner said. “The 22-mil wear layer is scratch and stain resistant, making Kindred the ideal floor for every member of the family. Like all LVT, Kindred offers easy maintenance. Stains and spills are a fact of life, but wipe clean in seconds.”

The 10 colors that make up the initial Kindred collection cover a wide range of tones. “We know all the beauty that wood can provide and are experts at bringing those unique colors to life at Duchateau,” Bewley said. “We created LVT styles that embody these nuances of color and tone.”

New hardwood

Duchateau also added five colors to the popular Lineage Series of engineered wood UV-lacquer finished flooring. “While the LVT story is getting most of the headlines, there continues to be a strong market for the high-fashion wood floor visuals offered in our Lineage Series,” Bewley said.
