The new Materia Prima collection from Gruppo Romani brand CIR Manifatture Ceramiche strips ceramic back to its basic form and reimagines it for a contemporary audience. Using cutting-edge technology and ceramic-focused research on aesthetics and fundamentals CIR have produced a wonderfully distinctive range.
Focusing on format, Materia Prima comes in a traditional 200 by 200mm and 100 by 200mm, as well as a 240 by 277mm Esagona (hexagonal) and a 130 by 240mm diamond-shaped Rombo. The thickly textured surface combines with the highly glossy glaze to produce a a uniquely light-catching tile that fills space with charm.
The range of ten shades (Cloud White, Metropolitan, Grey Vetiver, Soft Mint, Hunter Green, Pink Velvet, Jewel, Navy Sea, North Pole, and Black Storm) work alongside the gloss and texture and culminate in the abstract Rainbow decor tile. The range is also complemented by the gorgeous flora Inserto decors and Esagona (270 by 270mm) and Rombo (250 by 250mm) mosaics.
The organic, hand-crafted feel of the range maintains its contemporary style through shape and tone, and works to set the scene for a variety of interior designs. The matching colour-coordinated floor tiles in a lighter satin-finish (in Cloud White, Pink Velvet, Grey Vetiver, Soft Mint, North Pole) ensures homogeneity within spaces. The collection is suitable for both residential and commercial buildings.
