UltraCeramicSherbrooke, Quebec, Canada—American Biltrite introduced three timeless stone designs for UltraCeramic Contract: their new 4mm commercial-grade, fully grouted engineered stone flooring solution that aims to push the boundaries of true-to-life natural stone appearance and texture.

“UltraCeramic Contract’s design goal was to create a resilient flooring with the authentic look and feel of natural stone,” said Catherine del Vecchio, vice president of marketing. “We applied the best-looking stone visuals to a solid 4mm rigid core construction instead of the typical 2mm flexible LVT and created a unique patent-pending rounded edge on all sides and corners, which requires that the tiles be fully grouted.”

According to the company, UltraCeramic Contract is a next-generation engineered stone created for commercial environments featuring a 4mm rigid-core construction protected by a 20-mil wear layer. It features a polyurethane surface treatment that is stain-resistant and non-porous. Easy to clean and disinfect, the company said this no-wax flooring won’t show any signs of tarnishing after frequent disinfection contrary to marble and other natural stones. It provides the elegance of grouted ceramic tile or natural stone without its inconveniences such as hardness, slip coefficient of friction, noise impact, maintenance and long and expensive installation.

UltraCeramic Contract installs within 24 hours using a full-spread adhesive, ceramic tile spacers and premixed colored grout. According to the company, it’s lighter and easier to cut than hard surface tiles, does not require heavy cutting machinery and is mess-free.

“UltraCeramic Contract can be installed up to three times faster than ceramic and does not require any downtime between steps,” del Vecchio said. “Due to its ease of installation, it does not require a ceramic tile/stone installer, making it a great solution for an industry facing labor shortages,”

UltraCeramic Contract is a smart, durable, and decorative solution for corporate, hospitality, multi-dwelling properties, retail spaces and areas that need a 100% waterproof floor, the company said.

Available in 12 x 24 tiles, the new collections reflect the latest trends in the hard surface category:

  • Urban Slate – Rugged and classic, this collection brings a combination of rustic durability and timeless warmth to any space. Available in six natural colors with an unpolished matte finish.
  • Finestone – Chic and elegant, this contemporary collection comes in five delicate shades interlaced with subtle cross-grain veins.
  • Villa Stonewood – This subtle directional visual adds warmth of a look-alike wood visual in a stone construction. Available in four different colorways.
