product guide 2023New products are the lifeblood of the retail flooring industry, and dealers sometimes stake their reputations on selecting winning products that will resonate with customers while contributing to the bottom line. Floor Covering News’ 2023 Annual Product Guide includes more than 100 distinctive products across a range of formats and categories. Each manufacturer that chose to participate in this special issue had the opportunity to submit a photo and description of four recently introduced products or top sellers.

This year’s guide features a record 30 suppliers showcasing their very best—be it waterproof SPC, high-performing laminate flooring or ultra-soft carpet featuring anti-stain properties. The list of suppliers runs the gamut from the industry’s largest manufacturers to much smaller suppliers that have carved out their niche in one or more product segments. The common denominator? A desire to stand out from the competition while leveraging innovation and product development.

German manufacturer Classen, a new entrant in this year’s guide, showcases several new offerings. Uberwood, and eco-friendly product, comes equipped with Classen’s patented taploc installation system that guarantees water resistance for up to 168 hours. The special surface sealing protects against scratches and damage. Its Ceramin tiles, meanwhile, are positioned as an alternative to ceramic and natural stone.

As per usual, the hardwood category is well represented with species from North and South America featured. Brazilian cherry, renowned for its timeless beauty and distinct red undertones, is experiencing a resurgence in popularity. Triangulo is bringing to market new products like Brazilian oak Aton, which features neutral beige and gray undertones.

With color so important, Indusparquet is putting the spotlight on Imperial Chestnut, a Brazilian cherry with a rich, defined hue that brings tremendous definition to the species.

Given the competitive nature of the waterproof segment, manufacturers continue to up the ante when it comes to waterproof technology. A case in point is Mohawk, which has expanded SolidTech’s waterproof capabilities by adding WetProtect technology to its Select and Plus tiers, yet another layer of protection for pets and climate.

Johnson Hardwood’s Bella Vista, meanwhile, has a WaterShield high-performance core and 5G Dry system that enables it to withstand moisture incursion, scratches and stains.

Flooring is not just for interior surfaces any longer. With Riva’s Tile Stone, end users can enjoy modern and elegant appeal in outdoor spaces. What sets it apart is the innovative all-in-one technology, ensuring that stone-covered areas remain slip-free, even when in contact with water.

Elsewhere, WE Cork unveiled the Serenity collection. Fade and water resistant, Serenity offers high-definition cork visuals digitally printed on a high-density cork substrate.

On the soft surface side, Gold Standard I/II/III from EF’s Dream Weaver brand is made with PureColor HiGH-DEF Color Technology. The result: simple, yet sophisticated, colorations and exceptional value and variety.
