There are some big names in the ceramic industry participating this year – Marazzi and Ceramiche Piemme to name a few. The latter is using this occasion to formalise its collaboration with design firm Benoy, whom they have worked with on a line of tiles (these will be presented at Cersaie in September). At the Benoy studio in London Alice Rawsthorn, author of the best selling Design as an attitude, and design historian Cristina Morozzi will be welcomed to explore the growing use of tiles in architecture, a role that although ever-present, is becoming more and more significant.

Marazzi will be presenting ‘It’s a puzzle!’ at the St. John Street showroom in London. The inspiration for which is the “four curve” tile Triennale, designed for Marazzi by Gio Ponti and Alberto Rosselli in 1960. The new take on the shape seeks to reinterpret it through their new ceramic and stoneware collections and highlight its ability to modulate space. The installation by Irene Arescaldino is an uncompleted puzzle utilising large slabs of Grand Carpet and a colourful large cubic block constructed with the Eclettica slimline thickness wall covering. The showroom will be open from 09:30 to 22:00 Tuesday-Thursday.
