Engineered wood, is a thin veneer of a perhaps and expensive hardwood that looks warm and beautiful at less than 1/2 the cost of the real thing. This gorgeous warm wood I installed last year ran around $3.00 a foot and the adhesive about $35 a bucket for glue down. It took a lot of buckets, I think I used 7 but I also did almost the whole house except for the kitchen and baths.
