Glen Burnie, Md.—After 43 successful years in the flooring industry, Hoy Lanning, president and CEO of Haines, has set a retirement date of December 31, 2021. Lanning will work during 2021 in an executive position, continuing to build relationships with customers and suppliers.

Lanning joined J. J. Haines in January 2014 after the company acquired CMH Flooring where he had served as CEO. He became president and CEO of Haines in December 2018 and developed and implemented a plan to rebuild the company.

During the past two years, Lanning led a successful turnaround effort that has positioned Haines for further growth. “I am confident the company will continue to move in a positive direction,” said Lanning. “We have improved our service, our financial position and established a positive culture throughout Haines. It is a great time to pass the baton and plan to move toward another chapter in my life.”

In conjunction with Lanning’s plans, Ray Mancini, CEO of The Belknap White Group, will assume the CEO role at Belknap / Haines. Additionally, effective January 1, 2021, Paul Castagliuolo will become president of Belknap / Haines. Castagliuolo, who currently serves as president of Belknap, will oversee the combined companies.

“Hoy is a legend in the industry, and he has done a fantastic job leading Haines over the past two years,” Mancini said. “Without Hoy at the helm we wouldn’t have made such significant improvements. We appreciate all that he has done and wish him the best. We are also excited that Paul’s role will be increasing. He has been with Belknap for 23 years and has consistently performed at an exceptional level. He is well-suited to lead Belknap / Haines into the future.”

Castagliuolo added, “I’m appreciative of the confidence the Mancini family have in me and am very fortunate to have worked closely with Hoy Lanning, who is a true gentleman and friend. I have learned a lot from him over the past several years. He has been a great mentor. After such a great career, I’m happy that Hoy can finally spend more time with his beautiful wife Gwen and his children.”
