Dealers contend with latest round of price hikes

Citing rising costs in raw materials as well as container/port constraints, flooring manufac­turers have once again announced price hikes across sev­eral product categories. Retailers say they can ill afford to absorb more increases and plan to pass the costs onto consumers. At press time, Shaw Industries, AHF Products and Mannington/Phenix officially disclosed plans to increase prices.

SEFM marks the return of live trade shows

I just got back from the Southeast Flooring Market (SEFM) in Atlanta, which in essence was the first live trade show in more than a year. Yes, we had the National Floorcovering Alliance fall conference in Savannah—the industry’s first live event since the onset of the coronavirus—and we had four Mohawk Momentum Roadshows across the country. But as far as trade shows go, this marked their official return to our industry.

Armstrong Flooring announces price increases
