Polycom introduces relief for VAE shortage

Dalton—Polycom, a division of Taylor Adhesives, said its EcoBlend water-based, recycled PVB (polyvinyl butyral) dispersion can replace up to 30% of the VAE precoat (vinyl acetate ethylene emulsion) used primarily by manufacturers in the production of carpet tile. “Supply chain constraints have affected carpet mills in a number of different critical components,” said Gary Bartley, chief chemist, Polycom.

Interface increases carpet tile, LVT prices

Atlanta—Effective on orders placed after September 16, 2021, Interface will permanently increase its U.S. market prices 5%-7% for all carpet tile products and 10% for adhesives. Because of the extreme rise in shipping container costs, the company said it is also adding a temporary $0.25 per-square-foot surcharge to all LVT orders and a $0.10 per-square-foot surcharge to all Nora rubber product orders.
