Mapei continues its commitment to art and solidarity

Reviving its historic partnership with the Musei San Domenico in Forlì, Mapei is sponsoring the exhibition entitled “Maddalena. Il mistero e l’immagine” (“Mary Magdalene. The mystery and the image”), conceived and promoted by the Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì in collaboration with the city council. The international exhibition focuses on the enigmatic figure of Mary Magdalene as represented through some of the most treasured and fascinating works of art. The gaze and genius of internationally renowned artists portray a mysterious and symbolic woman who has captured the imagination of the artistic and literary world for centuries and more recently also the film industry. The exhibition also provides an opportunity to explore the way in which Mary Magdalene has been portrayed in each historical period and how this reflects the worldview of the times. Many great masters have been fascinated by the figure of Mary Magdalene, including Masaccio, Bellini, Perugino, Titian, Veronese, Tintoretto, Canova, Hayez, De Chirico and Guttuso.

The charitable initiative will finance Fondazione Arché’s ComHousing project which is promoted and backed by Mediafriends and aims to support women in need and their children through community services and housing and new educational models.

Mapei is also a partner of the Sky Arte programme created specially for the occasion and broadcast in prime time on the Sky Arte HD channel for the entire duration of the exhibition (27 March to 10 July).
