Cartersville, Ga.—Patcraft introduced its newest soft surface collection, “States of Water,” and a new carpet tile collection, “Textile Technique.”

States of Water

The company said its States of Water collection is inspired by the imagery of water in solid, liquid and vapor forms. Within the collection’s three styles, the soothing patterns and refined colorways are designed to enhance a calming aesthetic, Patcraft added.

“Water in its various states creates color in interesting ways,” said Ashley Weaver, product designer, Patcraft. “I was particularly curious about the formations of the glaciers in Greenland, drawn to their curvature and dramatic hues. Studying the water’s motion in these images—the depth and color shifts—we experimented with color and pattern, determined to recreate the movement in a gentle shift across the floor.”

Patcraft said Weaver and the design team worked closely with manufacturing, and by experimenting with samples and color combinations, the team explored new ways to replicate the movement seen within the imagery—playing with scale and texture. Available in 24 x 24 carpet tiles and 11 colorways, including six brights and five neutrals, the styles aim to create transition and movement across the floor, Patcraft said.

The States of Water collection includes the three styles, Glacial Ice, Tidal and Vaporous. According to the company, Glacial Ice features a large scale pattern inspired by dimension observed in the cracks and crevices of ice formations. With a subtle texture and soft gradient, Tidal is designed to capture the essence of crashing waves. Vaporous, a medium scale pattern inspired by vapor and fog, aims to offer movement and depth for comforting spaces.

The Textile Technique collection is available in 12 x 48 planks and two styles. Its saturated hues are paired with rich neutrals to provide balance throughout a range of colors, the company said. Textile Technique incorporates a nubby, textural pattern that is ideal for creating comforting spaces, Patcraft added.

“Visual and tactile texture is key to creating a space that feels soothing and welcoming,” said Ron Powell, senior product designer, Patcraft. “We used a high contrast yarn to impart this rich texture within the design, blending color palettes to evoke a sense of settling in.”

Patcraft said Textile Technique has 12 colorways that are inspired by modern color pairings. The collection blends shades of rose, lemon and emerald with soft, tonal neutrals to create subtle movement across the floor, the company said. The collection’s two styles, Interlock and Selvage, are designed to coordinate to define space and enhance connectivity. The collection features both a large and small scale pattern. The textural designs are infused with color aimed to create experiential spaces within the built environment.

Constructed with EcoSolution Q nylon and EcoWorx backing, States of Water and Textile Technique are Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver. As a carpet tile with EcoWorx backing, the collections can be recycled to then be remade into EcoWorx flooring through the re[TURN] Reclamation Program, according to the company. Products are backed with limited lifetime warranties against stain, colorfastness to light, static and abrasive wear for maximum performance and appearance retention.
