Single-family starts continue growth path in August

Washington, D.C.—Single-family starts showed continued growth in August but overall housing production fell 5.1% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.42 million units due to a double-digit percentage decline in multi-family production, according to data from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development and Commerce Departments. The pace of single-family starts in August was the highest production rate since February.

Larry Scott. Bandera, Texas—Larry Scott, a veteran of the hardwood flooring and installation industry, passed away on Sept. 11, 2020. He was 69. Scott was born in Wick, W.V., on Feb. 18, 1951, and grew up in Ohio. He moved to Texas in the late ’60s where he spent the rest of his life. He started his flooring career in the ’70s as a hardwood flooring installer for French Brown Floors in Dallas.
