EganDalton, Ga.—Earlier this week, Edward J. (Ted) Egan, industry veteran, passed away. With over 55 years in general and executive management, marketing, sales and operations, Egan contributed to the leadership and success of many companies throughout his career. In his most recent position with Taylor Adhesives, the company said he was a guiding presence for the company and his clients.

Taylor Adhesives said Egan was an icon in the flooring adhesive industry and the perfect combination of company and customer advocate. He developed many meaningful business and personal relationships while also mentoring many people over his long and successful career. The floor covering industry has lost a beloved leader and friend. He will be greatly missed and remembered by many for the lives he touched.

Before his 17 years with Taylor adhesives, Egan was president of the Parabond adhesives division of Para-Chem Southern for 11 years. During that time, Parabond became a growing and profitable company. From 1982 to 1996, he was president and COO of WW Henry Company/Armstrong World Industries, where he substantially grew a variety of business units.

His professional affiliations included the Adhesives and Sealants Council, Carpet & Rug Institute, Chemical Specialties Manufacturer Association and NAFCD. Egan also served on several business and educational foundations boards, including Floor Covering Installers of North America and Special Olympics.

Egan earned his undergraduate degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Notre Dame and attended graduate and executive classes at the University of Southern California School of Business and Wharton.

He leaves behind his wife of 33 years Anne Marie, his five children Todd, Lisa, Kevin, Daniel and Lilly Anne, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
