'I worked with Mary Ann on this amazing bathroom renovation. The work was completed by Shaffer Custom Homes, Chadds Ford, PA. The strait lines of the slate contrast the pebbles to perfection. The vertical installation of the rectangles adds a contemporary feel to the rustic texture of the slate. An adorable niche is nestled in the pebble wave. The slightly lighter grout sets off the shape of both the tile and the pebbles.

'Admit it, when you read the title of this post, you immediately thought of Talavera tiles (those brightly colored tiles we always associate with gaudy Mexican restaurants in the US (restaurants in Mexico don’t actually decorate with those–unless they’re trying to appeal to tourists). I’m not here to disparage Talavera tiles; they are truly an art form and when done tastefully, can be exquisite.

She got tired of having carpeted stairs as they were difficult to keep clean. 'Bob B. of the Lehigh Valley sent in a picture of his new slate kitchen backsplash installed by a local tile installer Dodd Sawka! Bob had a great time with Jeff in our showroom while they spent time together to design just the perfect background for his new kitchen. The slate and glass are from Jeffery Court and the combination of features look rich!
