'There are many options for a kitchen backsplash. Often if you have a large backsplash area above your sink or stove you want to do something unique. You can use a mural, find a fun mosaic, or insert decoratives. How about a niche? You can set some useful kitchen items where they are handy and it gives you a unique look. The drawing below incorporates a niche area under the hood filled with marble tiles, glass accents, and a metal and marble border. ?

In retrospect selling a house, buying another one, and launching a magazine, while simultaneously raising two smallish children (plus elderly, though smallish, pets) might not have been the greatest feat of planning. However. We were quickly outgrowing our old bungalow in the wonderful Northeast LA neighborhood of Atwater Village, and the time seemed oddly right to make the move.

'This bathroom was sent to me by Jaysin Hutchinson (mgr. of our new Robinson, PA store). He worked on it while he was still at the Richmond, VA store with Morse Renovations. They used the Krimiss Sinter Ceramic wall tile with the Mexican Sand Shimmer Glass Mosaic Blend. Good job, thanks for sharing Jaysin!

'Do you want a focal point but don''t like murals? or want something different? Here are some ideas for you. For a frame you can use a stone chair rail, glass liners, strips of mosaics, or metal liners just to name a few. If you are framing out an area you can either use the same tile you used as your field tile or mix it up a bit by changing the size or direction of the tile within the frame.

'Though we’re usually drawn to muted, monochromatic palettes, this color scheme immediately caught our eye. Of course, we love the neutral naturals and muted greys, but that kelly green is quite unexpected. And we quite like it. And we just happened to find the perfect complement to the space in our hand-painted terra cotta line, Tabarka. Such sweet harmony, it is.

These inserts come in various shapes and sizes. The most frequent are 2" squares and 4" squares. The easiest way for an installer to cut in your decos is to cut the corners of the tiles.

'I was just looking through the new Midwest Home magazine and found our stone tub installed in a bathroom!! I remember Shari from our Plymouth store selling one a couple of years ago.this must be it. It looks amazing! The home was designed by Murphy and Co. Design and is the "Highcroft Residence" in Wayzata, MN. So great to see this in someone''s home!
