Johnson City, Tenn.—Mullican Flooring, a leading manufacturer of quality hardwood floors, introduced a new oak collection to its solid flooring line. The Oak Pointe 2.0 low-gloss collection offers a matte finish in four colors: Dark Chocolate, Saddle, Gunstock and Natural.

Crafted from Appalachian oak, this new collection mirrors the Oak Pointe 2.0 collection that has provided many customers with the warmth and richness of oak, with its unique color variations, mineral streaks and knots but without the high-gloss finish.

Each collection is available in 2 1/4-inch and 3-inch widths and random lengths up to 7 feet, with a smooth finish, beveled edges and square ends. Both collections are protected by an aluminum oxide finish and backed by a 25-year finish warranty.

“Demand for low-level gloss finishes for hardwood flooring has seen a strong upward swing in the U.S. over the past few years, and Mullican is excited to offer this finish in our Oak Pointe 2.0 low-gloss collection,” said Pat Oakley, vice president of sales and marketing for Mullican. “This collection offers a more simplistic look than high gloss provides, and shows off the flooring’s natural oak beauty, color variations and grain patterns. The low-gloss finish also makes it easier to hide scratches and dents, which makes it a great choice for homeowners with young children and pets. Because dust and dirt don’t show as readily on matte finishes, it’s easier to care for and maintain. It also fits in beautifully with all design styles, from traditional to modern to rustic, and goes well with our most popular colors—light, natural shades and darker wood tones.”

Earlier this year, Mullican introduced its Nordic Naturals collection, a new Scandinavian-inspired line of solid hardwood flooring featuring the most up-to-date hardwood finish technology with antimicrobial protection and high abrasion resistance. This premium collection offers muted natural tones and subtle organic variations, providing a neutral, minimalist look. Nordic Naturals uses high-quality red oak combined with a technology that removes the pink tones, giving consumers the clean, natural visual of white oak. Sustainably harvested and crafted in the Appalachian Mountains, the collection is available in eight colors, three widths and random lengths up to seven feet.
