Guest Post: Jean of Delightful Repast’s Favorite Countertop Appliances

JG Kitchens

I “met” Jean of Delightful Repast a number of years ago, and have had the honor of her guest blogging for me twice before. I couldn’t resist asking her what she was thinking about lately. Here are Jean’s favorite countertop appliances, those mini kitchen workhorses. Cooking since childhood and having a genetic addiction to All Things Kitchen , I have, as you would probably guess, a very well-equipped kitchen with a full complement of countertop appliances.

A Spring Kitchen Refresh

The Perfect Bath

In much the same way that the bath needs a once-a-year overhaul, the kitchen is usually in need of a similar tune up. As the seasons change, I feel like it’s the right time to suggest a few simple fixes with big impact in both design and function. Recently, I decided to look at all of the pots in my pot cabinet. I realized that there were a number that I had not used in several years and the likelihood that I would recreate the dishes they were purchased for is probably zero.

Where Have All the Upper Cabinets Gone?

Conestoga Tile Blog

. If you spend any time browsing modern design blogs and websites, you know there are very few kitchens to be found with upper cabinets. Where did they go? How did this happen?! Was it our love for European design that’s driven this trend? Or the modern aesthetic of clean lines and little clutter? If it’s the latter, we’re confused. Where do you put all the stuff?

Personal Style

Conestoga Tile Blog

In our world today, with a universe of images at our fingertips, it’s easier than ever to know and define our own personal style. Or is it? Does the vast quantity of images and content available to you make you feel less sure and more scattered, or does it help you feel stronger in your sense of style? Being an Architect is Hell … My “New” House

Life of an Architect

Buying a new house is stressful for just about everyone, myself included. The actual act of trying to find a house that doesn’t make me want to claw my eyeballs out is a challenge … because I am ridiculously picky and I actually see all the crap that most people miss. This “gift” is a blessing and a curse because it allows me to recognize a house for its potential rather than rely upon the vision of others to present the house in a more complete and finished manner.
