HomeCOVID-19Armstrong suspends U.S. manufacturing
Michel Vermette

Armstrong Flooring’s CEO, Michel Vermette, released the following statement detailing the company’s decision to halt manufacturing for two weeks amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“As efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 ramp up across the country, we continually evaluate how to best support the safety of our employees, customers and communities while providing essential products and service to customers.

After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to suspend production for two weeks in our U.S. plants, beginning this Sunday, April 5.

During this time, we remain open for business and our teams are actively working on solutions for customers across the country:

  • Our warehouses will continue to operate, shipping product from our inventory to meet essential needs for healthcare, education, housing and other projects
  • Additional inventory is available through our distributor partners, which remain operational
  • Our sales team continues to hold customer meetings, product presentations and continuing education programs online
  • Our customer service and other corporate departments are working remotely and are accessible to assist with any questions or needs you may have

We are taking this proactive step in the U.S. to support nationwide efforts to limit and slow the spread of coronavirus. Our warehouses will continue to operate while maintaining social distancing, enhanced cleaning protocols and other practices to help safeguard team members. During this two-week period, we will continue to assess the situation and will make determinations about when and how to resume production.

As you all know, we are in the midst of a rapidly changing environment. While it seems each day brings new challenges, we are committed to providing the essential flooring products and service you need while safeguarding public health. Thank you for your understanding and for choosing Armstrong Flooring. May you continue to stay safe and well.

Sincerely,

Michel Vermette
President and CEO”
