Lancaster, Pa.—Armstrong Flooring is extending its series of online continuing education unit courses, with upcoming webinars on concrete subfloors for resilient flooring, installation of commercial resilient flooring and designing for senior living. Armstrong Flooring launched its series of online CEO courses in early April, to enable designers to earn CEU credits even if they couldn’t attend in-person sessions.

The first two sessions will be led by Tim Provence, field installation services specialist for Armstrong Flooring. For each one, participants can earn 1 AIA/HSW Learning Unit Credit and 1 IDCEC Continuing Education Unit.

Concrete Subfloors to Receive Resilient Flooring – Thursday, April 30, 1 p.m. ET

This course provides information on sub-base design, sources of moisture, how to measure slab vapor emissions, the proper use of vapor retarders, good concrete mix design, measurement of slab flatness and levelness, joint treatments and curing compounds and sealers.

Installation of Commercial Resilient Flooring – Thursday, May 7, 1 p.m. ET

This course reviews proper subfloor preparation and components of a successful installation, which include jobsite conditions, product acclimation and tools for the job. It will also review ASTM F 710 guidelines and discuss installation methods for heat welding, coving and wall base.

The third course will be led by Amy Costello, sustainability manager at Armstrong Flooring. Participants can earn 1 GBCI Continuing Education Hour, 1 AIA/HSW Learning Unit Credit and 1 IDCEC Continuing Education Unit.

Designing for Senior Living – Thursday, May 14, 1 p.m. ET

The expected population growth of older adults has accelerated the demand for healthcare, in-home caregiving and assisted living facilities. This course provides an overview of key considerations for designing senior living spaces including regulations, building codes and health and wellness certifications related to senior living design and flooring.
