Mannington Mills’ 2021 Art is Cool awards “Best in Show” winning artwork by Brooke McCallister, Arthur P. Schalick High School.

Salem, N.J.—Mannington Mills selected the recipients of its 2021 “Art is Cool” awards. The program, now in its 19th year, recognizes the talent of Salem County students and is designed to encourage them to pursue artistic endeavors. Entries are judged by Mannington’s Residential Styling team, according to the company.

“Artistic talent is vital to the success of both Mannington and the flooring industry as a whole because flooring is a fashion business,” said Terry Marchetta, senior director of residential styling, Mannington Mills. “The ‘Art is Cool’ program reflects our company’s ongoing commitment to local education and the arts. Each year, we look forward to seeing what these talented students will create.”

Art teachers from each of Salem County’s high schools were invited to submit entries electronically in a variety of mediums, which over the years has grown to include sculpture, photography, computer art, painting and drawing, according to the company. Open to high school juniors and seniors, the winners received gift cards as their prize, Mannington said.
