welspun flooringLas Vegas—As Welspun Flooring prepares to launch its new North American flooring product line, the company said it is looking to offer more than a quality product to its customers. As its new lines roll out, Welspun has committed to donating, by way of customer base support, $0.01 from every square foot sold in North America to the Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) on its private labeled programs’ overbill of SPC, broadloom carpet and carpet tile sold. Welspun said it chose to support the FCEF with the charitable giving program because its purpose supports the entire flooring industry and has a positive impact on Welspun’s customers.

“It is extremely important to us as we enter the North American market that we do our part to support the industry and ensure that we have the craftsman needed to install our products professionally,” said Amol Naravane, vice president, Welspun Flooring.

Welspun’s decision to support the FCEF shows how simple it can be for organizations to support the FCEF ongoing, the company said. The organization saidi t hopes that other suppliers within the flooring industry step up to create similar programs.

“This is a program that we want our competitors, our colleagues and even our customers to copy,” said Samuel Thomas, U.S. head of flooring, Welspun USA. “We hope this commitment from Welspun brings attention to the FCEF and encourages others to step up and support and organization that is helping the entire industry.”

New products rolling out this spring to North American customers are being debuted at The International Surfaces Event (TISE). Welspun will be introducing new styles boasting innovations in technology, design and construction options in rigid waterproof flooring and durable eco-friendly broadloom carpet and carpet tiles. Welspun expects these new products to be in the market this spring and said it is looking forward to making regular donations to the FCEF in addition to providing flooring materials for the instructional classes.

“We are so thankful for the support of organizations like Welspun who have really stepped up to help us get our programs off the ground,” noted Jim Aaron, executive director of FCEF. “Whether you’re a supplier, distributor, retailer or any organization that benefits from the flooring industry, we need your help. When the industry steps up, we at the FCEF can make sure that our industry is able to recruit talent and elevate the flooring installation trade by supporting quality installation training and job placement.”

The FCEF is also attending TISE where the group is focusing on growing awareness of its organization, the programs its developing and, most importantly, how the industry can take action to support the FCEF.
