Stoddard, N.H.—Carlisle Wide Plank Floors, a leader in artisan-crafted wide plank hardwood flooring for residential and commercial spaces, has added four distinctive floors to its full-time offering. The new floors represent the most common requests Carlisle said it has received from its designer and consumer clients to alter floors in the company’s standard hardwood flooring collections.

“Although 70% of our customers choose to design their own wide plank floor, they all start by reviewing our Collection floors, which feature our most popular tried-and-true finishes,” said Chris Sy, president, Carlisle Wide Plank Floors. “Very often, they find a floor that is very close to what they are looking for, but then want to tweak it slightly. By adding a texture, changing the sheen or thinning the stain on one of our Collection floors, they are able to arrive at their perfect floor without the effort of starting from scratch.”

Inspired by the ebb and flow of the natural world, the newest additions to Carlisle’s Collection Floors include the following:

  • Forest Path, Traditional Collection (8-inch, smooth white oak, heirloom grade) – Evoking fallen leaves, broken sticks and rich soils from wet to dry, Forest Path brings to mind a lightly traveled path through the woods, according to Carlisle. The understated medium-brown tone complements a range of interiors. The smooth texture allows for a more even tone and the subtle sheen gives each board the rich appearance of fine furniture.
  • Ocean Sand, Casual Collection (-inch brushed white oak, signature or heirloom grade) – Awash in neutral tones and subtle character, Ocean Sand is reminiscent of the soft texture and calming colors of a barefoot walk on the beach, the company said. White oak is slightly tinted with a touch of a white, while the sheen is held to the lowest possible levels, creating the feel that the wood is raw. The brushed texture highlights the flow of the grain in each plank.
  • Snow Drift, Retreat Collection (8-inch brushed hickory, heirloom grade) – Snow Drift mimics the subtle color changes that appear as light hits a myriad of surfaces in a snow drift, the company said. A medium white stain softens the color contrast typically seen in hickory and allows the light to reveal the variation of tone while the brushed texture creates a variety of layers for rich character.
  • Winter Light, Casual Collection (8-inch brushed white oak, signature or heirloom grade) – Winter Light is said to replicate winter days where the slight cover of clouds and diffuse light bounces off the snow. Medium white pigments washed over a brushed texture create visual interest as the stain holds deeper in the open grain, creating a layering of white on white and allowing the natural variation of the wood to shine through.

Carlisle offers a broad continuum of flooring options – ranging from its Collections to fully customized floors. The newest offerings expand the ways in which customers can achieve a distinctive floor, showcasing how a single alteration in texture, color or finish can create a very different aesthetic.

“Custom does not have to be complicated but is simply about making something your own,” Sy added. “By incorporating these new floors into our Collection offering, we hope to inspire even more customers to envision how a subtle change to a floor can make a significant difference and enable them to put their personal touch on their floor. With these newest additions to our line, we’re not only making customization easier but helping our customers realize the truly endless possibilities available to create beautiful floors that perfectly complement their interior spaces.”

The new floors are offered in ¾-inch plank thickness and in two- to twelve-foot lengths, with a choice of engineered or solid construction, and can be ordered through Carlisle showrooms and design consultants.
