Tile Addicts predict 2022 bathroom trends

After a few weeks of trends we thought it would be fun to do a little trend-predicting of our own. Being of the best places to tile, we’ve selected bathrooms as our space of choice. Let’s see if you agree with what we’ve come up with!

1. Showers as statements

We definitely agree with the experts here. Showers are getting a facelift in the best of ways. From fully zellige to playfully patterned, showers are set to be as luxurious as a bath!

2. Jungalow design

Jungalow design has taken the internet by storm, inspiring people to make a statement in the smallest of spaces. Liven up the bathroom with plenty of greenery and funky animal-inspired wallpaper, add rich colours and natural textures, and don’t be shy when it comes to contrast.

3. Dark terrazzo

An evolution of the trendy black bathroom, but this time with a touch of nature. Make a moody statement with dark terrazzo and pick out the flecks of colour to match with or contrast against towels, paint, or wallpaper.

4. Revamped Victorian

A comforting classic in a neutral palette, Victorian tiles are a go-to for an affordable but interesting look. Matched with modern vanities, trendy circular mirrors, and a herringbone splashback, in 2022 the Victorian tile gets a refresh.

5. A story of contrasts

Gone are the days of a soulless white bathroom. In 2022 it’s all about being striking. Whether it’s an olive green against soft creamy marble, baby blye with a black and white aztec pattern, or simply a statement fixture in black set agains a white wall, there’s sure to be a combination to grab your attention.

6. Pink

Some think pink has had its day, but I think it’s just getting started. It’s controversial, and not to everyone’s taste, but done right a pink bathroom will definitely put a smile on your face. There’s no need to go overboard when designing, simply decorate the shower, add a patterned floor, or offset the pink with something grounding and neutral.

7. Feature floors

Feature walls have been done and done and done again. But now it’s all about the feature floor. In a space as confined and intimate as a bathroom a whole wall can make the room shrink or feel disjointed, but a feature floor is a different story. Depending on how busy the print or how loud the colours, a feature floor can literally lift the bathroom onto another level. Petrol blues contrasting with white, striking black and white designs, or perfectly pastel beauties can help craft a design from the bottom up – offering inspiration for the plumbing, walls, decors, and towels.
